Justyna

Smart

Justyna founded her brand as the answer to a lifelong calling. Rather than create another trendy polyester dress at a high price point, she chose a different path. While there is nothing inherently wrong with that approach, after 40 years in business, she is focused on leaving behind something meaningful—a true heritage.

Her inspiration comes from old-school couturiers, the abundance of nature, and the long arc of human history. Each gown carries deep meaning, elevated by meticulous attention to detail. She has a particular love for structure and fine tailoring and believes there is nothing more moving than hand stitching. Every design is personally curated by her, from initial concept and sketch to draping, pattern making, and first development.

As Karl Lagerfeld once said, “Trendy is the last stage before tacky.” She aspires instead to create timeless pieces. Her goal is to build a legacy for future generations, following in the footsteps of female ancestors who spent their lives at the loom, crafting fine textiles and hand-stitched garments that we now admire through archaeological discovery.

She is deeply intrigued by historical embellishments, embroidery, and the beaded “forbidden stitches” that carried hidden messages. At a time when women were silenced and treated as property, these symbolic details became a form of communication. She finds strength and resilience in these stories—the quiet tenacity of women who carried civilization forward.

The bridal industry offers her a profound role: to be a witness to transformation. Each bride steps forward to take her place in the relay of humanity. Through her work, she hopes to cloak brides in intention—in strength, grace, and quiet blessing for the journey ahead. The bridal gown becomes a canvas not only for form but also for spirit.

An ecological activist at heart, she is committed to natural textiles. She works primarily with the highest-quality silk, fine wools, linen, and cotton. While synthetics cannot yet be avoided entirely in a world dominated by polyester, her mission is to minimize their use and help grow market demand for natural fibers.

Her “Roman Holiday” collection draws inspiration from the glamour and charm of old Hollywood, particularly the timeless elegance of Audrey Hepburn. She was influenced by the sculptural mastery of Hubert de Givenchy, Cristóbal Balenciaga, and Christian Dior, translating that legacy into designs that honor both history and craftsmanship.
